Spring Cleaning

Hello everyone.  I'm very disappointed in myself for not keeping up with this Blog.  I've been extremely busy and I've just started to slow down a bit so I wanted to get back into Blogging; if you know me well you know I love to "chat", not "talk", there's a difference.  Anyway, I'm 100% on board to make this a daily entry thing.  I'm sitting here at work staring out the window of my office trying to decide what to do this weekend.  The weather isn't all that great, as a matter of fact it's quite cold and dreary.  If it stays like this all weekend I may just play scrabble and clean my closet.  Actually it's a perfect weekend to pull the dresses to the front of the closet and get rid of the dark hues of winter.  I love Spring and March is around the corner.  I hope you all have a great weekend and tell me here what your plans are.  Maxine, xoxoxoxo

COSMOMAXIE STYLE: Summer

COSMOMAXIE STYLE: Summer has officially hit Washington, DC.  The temperature is HOT so i'm doing my best to stay cool in this heat.  One of the things I am cautious about in the summer is wearing light and breezy fabrics in the heat.  I am always confused when i see people in Black in the summer months; doesn't that draw heat to you? I recommend you wear light colours like yellow, whites, peach, orange, and coral.  It spices up your wardrobe and looks wonderful in the sun.  The fabrics i love in the summer are cotton and linen; so light and airy.  I am a big fan of stilletos all year round but a good peep toe either high or flat will compliment any look in the summer heat.

I am obsessed with everything Animal print from cardigans, dresses, ballet flats, booties, bracelets, scarves and am having so much fun mixing solid peices with my prints this Fall.  You have to be careful though; some animal print can look really CHEAP.  The key is to add a splash of colour to make the outfit POP.  Don't be afraid of colours. I love to flirt with colours; they keep me girlie and stylish at the same time. I would recommend colours like mustard yellow, cobalt blue(my favourite), green and orange.  I recently purchased a gorgeous pair of Dolce & Gabbana Leopard printed booties and they are so sinful.  I can hardly wait to commit crimes in them.  I also got a huge leopard print envelope clutch which I plan to wear to dinner with my cobalt blue dress when I visit LA in a couple of weeks.  My last obsession I will share with you are my favourite lipsticks this fall.  They are So Chaud, Chili, and Lady Danger; all by MAC.  What are your obssessions?  Share them with me; we may be obsessed with the same things!!! xoxoxoxo

What's on your Christmas or Holiday wish list?

What are some of your favourite things to do when the weather changes?

I absolutely love this time of the year; fall.  It's one of my favourite seasons.  I love the crisp air, cool breeze and of course the leaves.  The colours are spectacular; especially along the parkways and beltways.  I look forward to the early mornings in the fall.  I love to open my windows and feel the cool breeze.  It's also a good time to wrap up with a book and a cup of tea and get lost in the ambience of Autumn.  It's a good time to layer just a little when you dress. Today I'm wearing my favourite Booties, a green cardigan from H&M, an Old Navy blazer, boyfriend jeans and a white tank from JCrew.

What are your plans for this weekend?

I could possibly have a date this weekend.  I've just started on the road to "dating" again.  It's always fun but it can be stressful at times.  I love the idea of planning what to wear, how to fix my hair, what makeup colours i'm going to use, what shoes and accesories to wear and of course should i dress up or down.  That's right up my alley so that part, I look forward to.  The part that sucks is trying to decide how to have fun if there's no Chemistry.  Anyway, we can discuss that later.  I do know that if i have a date this weekend, I will tell you all about it on Monday.  Stay tuned.........
